What Is A Keyword Analysis and How Can it Boost Your Rankings?

Keyword analysis is the process of uncovering, discovering and understanding terms and phrases that are used by people typing into a search engine – one of the most important aspects of both SEO and PPC campaigns.

So what is a keyword analysis, and how can it boost your rankings in Google and other search engines?

By understanding what visitors are actually looking for, internet marketers can customize their pages to increase their website traffic and conversion rates.

Search engines produce relevant results to the term searched, so it’s important to use wording that reflects this, not only in your keywords but topic as well.  Do this, and you will see a higher page rank in Google and other search engines, which means more qualified traffic to your blog or website.  Ultimately, you want to be listed on page #1 – anything else will just not do!

You can track the effectiveness of your keywords in Google Analytics and Webmaster Tools.  But one of the easiest ways to not only find but track and produce the most effective keywords, is to use a good keyword tool.

With a good keyword tool, you will be able to determine the volume of a search keyword or phrase, and gain some insight into the competition for those particular terms.
It should also tell you where your page ranks on Google for that particular keyword.

It is extremely important that any webmaster or site owner know keyword analysis and use it to its fullest extent – remembering that relevancy is core! Without it your rank will go no where!

Remember, the keyword must accurately describe the content!

I use both Google Analytics and Google Webmaster Tools as mentioned earlier.  But I also use a keyword tool called Jaaxy – you can read a bit more about how it works.

One quick example of keyword analysis would be the following:
say I was interested in posting an article on my “Fiction Books Website”.

So I type in “top 10 fiction books” in the keyword search field, and was pleasantly surprised to find “top 10 inspirational books” produced and exceptional keyword (and possible niche).

As you can see in the image above, that term shows 3,756 searches/month.  If you could achieve a first page ranking in Google for your post through proper SEO, it would produce approximately 639 hits or visits/month – Outstanding!

Under a minutes work and I’ve found a killer keyword – add a great article that’s SEO ready to my Fiction Book Site, having to do with the “top 10 inspirational books”, and I will have potentially added 649 visitors/mo. to my site – Awesome!
… and it’s as easy as that!

Remember to ALWAYS Analyze all of your SEO efforts – it will pay off !
